Marilyn’s Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Serves: many
5 lbs ground round
2 lbs Italian sweet sausage
3 cups cooked rice
2 lbs head cabbage
salt and pepper
1/4 cup parsley
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 large can sauerkraut
1 medium size can whole tomatoes
Cook cabbage until the leaves have softened. Then take leaves off as they
become soft in about 15 minutes. Mix ingredients and roll the leaves from the
base, tucking in the sides, to the ends. Place in a large pan and alternate
with the sauerkraut. Pour the tomatoes over the top and fill with water so the
pan is 3/4 full. Cook on top of stove on low heat for 5 hours.
