Skewered Beef
Makes: 30 appetizers

1 lb beef flank steak
2 Tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry white wine
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1 medium onion

Cut beef across grain into 1/8-inch strips. Toss beef, vegetable oil, soy sauce, ginger, sugar, salt, wine and white pepper in glass bowl. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Cut onion into 1-inch pieces. Thread 1 onion piece, 1 beef strip and 1 onion piece on each of thirty 6-inch skewers. Grill or broil with tops about 4 inches from heat, turning once, until done, about 6 minutes.
