Spicy Chile Almonds
 
1 TBS powdered red New Mexican chile
1 TBS hot pepper sauce
1 TBS unsalted butter
2 TBS soy sauce
4 cups balanced whole almonds
Salt if desired


Melt butter on a cookie sheet in a 350 oven. Sprinkle the hot pepper sauce and the soy sauce over the butter and add the nuts. Stir the nuts until well coated. Sprinkle with one half of the chile powder and bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining chile and salt, if desired. Stir and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
