BBQ Fava beans
20 fava bean pods
7 spring onions
4 jalapeno chiles
2 limes,
cut in half
1/4 cup soy sauce
Salt to taste
On the
barbecue, place fava pods, onions, and chiles off to the side of the direct
heat, and let them slowly cook as your main course is grilling. (It's OK if the
pods are a bit charred; the beans inside are what you are after anyway.) Place
the pods on a plate, and squeeze limes and drizzle soy sauce over the top.
Sprinkle a little salt to taste. You will have to peel the pod to get to the
beans, but it's well worth it.
