2 large cans Pork and Beans
6 strips bacon, diced
1 large onion, diced
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp. mustard
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbs. Barbecue sauce
Cook the bacon and set aside, reserving the rendered fat.
Drain the juice from the beans and reserve. Sauté the onion
in bacon fat until transparent. Set onion aside. In the same skillet,
put juice from the beans, ketchup, sugars, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves. Turn down to low and cook until
thick, stirring occasionally. Add beans, onion, and bacon. Pour into casserole
and bake in 350-degree oven until hot and bubbly.
